Detailed description

The IP Seal - Customs Seal is certified according to ISO PAS 17712:2013/C-TPAT and tested and approved by the German Customs Authority as a ‘seal of a special type’. Given an approval as ‘authorised consignor’ and an allocated coding number, this solid and mechanically resistive High Security bolt seal now adds the advantages of a simplified transit procedure to securing sea containers, box trucks, rail cars and other transport containers.

Having passed the German Customs Authority’s strict standards and tests is a mark of quality and confirms the security against manipulation this seal provides.

The seal’s bolt and locking chamber are made of plastic-coated steel. When fastened by pushing the 11 mm diameter bolt into the locking chamber until it snaps shut, the moulded plastic of the bolt and the locking chamber interlock as well. This anti-spin locking mechanism offers the highest protection against tampering, known as Anti-Spin Safety or ASS.

Both parts of the seal – steel bolt and steel locking chamber – are connected by a plastic link and have to be detached before use.
Bolt cutters are required to remove the seal.

For added security, the bolt and the locking chamber of the IP Seal are marked with the same combination of prefix and 6-digit consecutive number. In addition, the locking chamber is marked with the authorised consignor’s code number.

The IP Seal - Customs Seal is also available in its standard version IP Seal, without code number.
