Quarter-turn fastener for small electrical and electronic devices and housings. Suitable for electrical enclosures, computers and photocopiers. Available with slot head, Phillips head, knurled knob or star grip, and with a protruding or flush spring-cup.
The stud is inserted into the receptacle. A quarter turn tensions the spring as the cross pin moves down to the end of the slope in the receptacle, where it snaps into place.
An 8mm diameter hole is drilled through the cover plate. Flush spring-cups must be countersunk to 100° by drilling or pressing. The stud with spring-cup is pushed through the opening in the cover plate, and secured on the other side with the retaining washer. To fit the receptacle, it is used as a template to drill a 13mm diameter centre hole and two mounting holes. It can be screwed or riveted into place.
